The low environmental impact bag for the Milan FuoriSalone

18.04.2007 - 23.04.2007 @ Milano International Furniture Fair 2007

Fedrigoni has decided to stand up and be counted at the Milan International Furniture Fair 2007, with an experimental, low environmental impact project that combines function efficiently with form.

The designers Chiara Brena, Valentina Colombo and Andrea Di Camillo have created a complete bag made of paper, transforming this simple element into a mature product and using it to convey the values of quality, innovation, design and care for the environment espoused by Fedrigoni.

The design uses the environmentally friendly paper Freelife Kendo, a 250 gramme product with FSC certification and the European Ecolabel.
Starting from the standard sheet format of 70 x 100 cm, the design employs a system of scoring to create a do-it-yourself bag that needs no adhesives or other external additions. To round it all off, a coloured ribbon can be used to close the bag. The graphic design also expresses the same values and concepts listed above: the texture is reminiscent of elements of nature that undergo transformation as they are reborn in the typographic process.

This design approach also enables the Fedrigoni bag to have a rather longer life cycle than an ordinary shopper, thus further reducing its
environmental impact
. Fedrigoni offers you the chance to use the low environmental impact bag at the Milan FuoriSalone, where it will be distributed by Esterni, Fedrigoni’s partner in the project.
