Genesis - Die Kunst der Schöpfung
Bern
The show in Bern explores the methods shared by avant-garde art and genetic research from an interesting perspective.
The relation to Paul Klee's work is obvious: the term Genesis and the subject of Creation are crucial to his artistic philosophy and work. The artist saw himself as a creator and the development of his work as genesis. His work method is comparable to that of a scientist; after the meticulous examination of organic or geometric structures, he transferred these to his medium (drawing or painting) according to specific rules. In his writings, Paul Klee also commented on the relationship between the visual arts and science. The exhibition in Bern uses innovative means to show the visitor the development of modern biology, while also presenting the artistic examination of modern genetics.
