Lamosca consists of professionals in various disciplines and has offices in both Barcelona and Tarragona.
How did Lamosca start?
Quite spontaneously really. A group of us, all different and independent-minded professionals, decided to share something other than friendship: a collaboration in the same, physical space, on shared projects and business principles and ideals, etc. The first jobs came in and we started working together.
Do you think there is a defined style to your work?
Yes, there is a style, but this style also changes depending who forms part of the team at any given moment. There is a style to the way we do things, think, interact with the client and there are some elements that are intrinsic to the designs we create.
What kind of activities do you do in terms of promoting design culture?
Educating the client on a daily basis. For several years, we've been on the board of the ADG-FAD, we try to collaborate with book projects or magazines that ask us for information, and we've also participated in events like MadinSpain, Offf or Muuu and given talks at several places.
What are you working on at the moment?
On the business side of things, we're setting up a second studio in the Tarragona area and developing a network of international collaborations (for example, with wired, squire, good, monocle, etc.).
In terms of specific projects, we're developing corporate identities for CONFAVC (Confederation of Neighbourhood Associations of Catalonia) and a new museum in Murcia. We're also working on a very interesting project for the Fundación de Sant Joan de Déu as well as a couple of exhibitions (one cultural in character, the other scientific). In the virtual world, we're re-designing Rockdelux's website and the new TV3 player.
