Sustainable Business by Design, a one-day conference on the theme of sustainability, is aimed at businesses – in particular design professionals, business consultants and those working in or for the public sector – interested in sustainable practices and how such practices can help to give them a creative edge, and aims to advise designers on how best to market sustainability to their clients. Other areas speakers are planning to cover at the event include:
the growth of disposable packaging;
sustainable branding and marketing;
designing green IT & electronics;
developing structures for implementing sustainable practices.
Speakers include David Kester, chief executive of the Design Council: John Luff, sustainable branding & marketing specialist; Peter Hopton, Green IT specialist, manufacturer and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufacturing & Science; and Mark Shayler, design advisor & eco-designer. There will also be three breakout sessions by design themes and an expert panel Q&A.
